Things have been pretty crazy around here. If this keeps up, I will have to change this blog to Pix of the Month! Some highlights:
- I went to the National Meeting of the American Chemical Society in Indianapolis - it was right next to the Colts stadium
- Katie played on a first and second grade soccer team for PCS; they had a few wins
- Kristine attended Homecoming for PCS with friends and had a great time!
- Karen, in addition to being extremely busy student-teaching third grade, is again teaching a Sunday School class
- The weather has been mostly pretty warm and dry, but fall seems to be slowly taking hold
- After hosting a workshop on Chemistry Education yesterday, I celebrated by taking the girls on a hike in Detweiller Park (there was also a really cool cable jungle-gym)

Galesburg Railroad Museum
My parents are visiting this weekend. This afternoon we visited the Galesburg Railroad Museum. It was nice. The interior is a bit crowded with display items, but they were genuine, and there was lots of stuff to look at. We got a guided tour of the train cars - not as many as at the Green Bay Railroad Museum, but the tour was informative. Later, we viewed a huge switching area for the BNSF railway (second largest in the nation, working on being the largest, I think). After that, we stopped at the Galesburg airport to see the Stearman biplanes gathered for a show there this week.
