Today was the 5th annual multicultural festival at St. Albert the Great Parish. The mass was 2 hours long but pretty cool. This is one of the most diverse parishes in the Austin diocese, with people listing themselves as coming from 52 nations. The pastor's bishop friend (also from Uganda?) visited for the Mass. After a potluck lunch dancers of various ethnicities performed, including a Hawaiian hula and a Vietnamese dragon dance. Kris, Katie and I went to Walnut Creek later today and got a few minnows to keep in a jar. On the way back I grabbed grabbed some rocks that were layered and looked like they would have some shell fossils. I was shocked and thrilled to get a bunch of small shark teeth out of them.
