We drove to Sweet Berry Farm near Marble Falls which is a lot like Tanners (in Peoria), but instead of apples to pick, they have flowers (mostly zinnias with lots of harmless honeybees) to pick this time of the year. (The pumpkins are shipped in from elsewhere). We saw a few spots of color on the way there, but really we were told not to expect much of that here in central Texas. Kris and Karen loved the Texas shaped corn maze. Katie rode a horse and picked flowers (note the honeybee on the flower she is holding). We got rain on the way home and the girls got to don rain gear and go splash in some puddles. The rain has passed for now, but more might come tonight and tomorrow - certainly the most impressive i have seen so far. I'm going to guess a quarter to half inch, but it was enough to see backing up just a little behind some flood control structures.
