Another Demo Event at the Riverfront Museum

Bradley classes started on Wednesday, so things have been pretty busy.  It is hard do all this stuff with just one driver - makes me both more appreciative of Karen and driving feet and makes me wish that I lived on a bus route.  Foot continues to feel better and the blood thinner dose seems to have been figured out  - I hope the bones are setting in the right place and the leg blood clot goes away.   Katie and Karen helped out demos at the Riverfront Museum in Peoria yesterday.  We were pretty busy, and their help and student help was greatly appreciated.  Threat of an ice storm today, but it was not real bad where we were.

Social Stuff

Friday night there was a game night at our church.  We had fun and I played a lot of Sequence. It got to over  50 F yesterday, so I sat on the porch swing in the sun and read for a bit. It's a bit colder today. I'm still having problems with my pictures turning back sideways - that was supposed to be the view from the front porch. Last night we went to an 85th birthday bash for a colleague and I met some people that I have not seen in a long time.

Scooter

I do not know why the top picture is posting sideways!  I have a little rented 4-wheeled push scooter that I am using, especially in open, flat areas like the halls at Bradley University (it's a little more challenging but can be useful in confined spaces like at home). Not really the most dignified means of transport, but sometimes I can move faster than walking speed. Most of the time I feel time I feel like I am moving in molasses.  I don't if you can see the irony on the back of the T-shirt - it says "If you see me running try to keep up." I rigged up some brackets to the scooter to carry my crutches.  I have to be careful using it so it does not irritate any older right-side injuries (why do I always beat up my right side?) I call it my "Dean buggy".  Hopefully in a few weeks I can put weight on the cast - some days that foot feels better than others.

Kris's Birthday

My parents have been in town visiting and helping out. Kristine celebrated her 14th birthday on Wednesday.  That same day, her 8th grade class came to Bradley University for a demo show - Kris got to make a big but safe fireball. It has been warm lately - we are almost out of snow and I found a dandelion blossom.  We saw the starts of crocuses and tulips, but it is supposed to be colder tomorrow.
