In Tuesday Sept. 27, in the morning we went to Mee Kwa Mooks beach in west Seattle with Dace and the boys to go tidepooling. The beach did not look like much from the road but we found: seaweed (including bull kelp), a huge jellyfish, sea anenomes, all sorts of shellfish (like snails and clams), teeny starfish, crabs, teeny hermit crabs, barnacles, some mystery arthropods, a shrimp, and an eel! Later in the day Susan was able to join all of us for a trip to the zoo in Seattle. I thought it was pretty cool to see a Komodo dragon - I don't recall ever seeing one before. That evening Dace introduced Arlan, Katie, and Kris to Star Wars: Episode IV.
